Here we are again, at the greatest time of year to be an Arkansan!

Autumn is always a busy time for Beyond Photography.  Folks are thinking about giving portraits as Christmas gifts.  With temperate weather coupled with awesome fall foliage–when could be a better time?  I’ve always taken our beautiful Fall for granted, and simply assumed that every Photographer is insanely busy during these last few months.  Last October, talking to my friend and Mentor from Dallas, he enlightened me:  They don’t have “Fall”/Fall color in Dallas!!! Shameful.  Let me again assert–the only really great thing about Texas is the amazing Mexican food.  [It was only about 3 years ago when I learned, with my Photographer buddy Walter, in Denton,  that you can actually go for Mexican food FOR BREAKFAST!!!! That was a life-changer for me.  Hello, chorizo.  God bless you, Walter.]

It’s become a Beyond Photography tradition that Fall always includes Pumpkin Patch photos, and it’s one of my favorite seasonal events.  I love everything about this time of year!  I love the smells of pumpkin and nutmeg and cloves [I'm really loving my new clove-flavored hard candy I bought in an Amish community], Starbucks is serving the Pumpkin Spice Lattes [and thereby performing a beautiful act of service to humanity], I relish the slight bite of cool morning air, I cherish the kaleidoscope trees.  I can’t eat enough pumpkin pie!  [I have to admit, though, that some Australian hosts once served me pumpkin soup, and . . . I wouldn't ask for it again, but I cleaned my bowl with a smile.]  For me, this really is, to borrow a line from a song “the most wonderful time of the year.”

So let’s see you at our own Pumpkin Patch!  We’re “growing” [buying] our own real pumpkins, and setting up our own Fall scene again. (Click here to see a sample of this year’s scene.)

We’ll be outdoors again this year, shooting Fall Quick Pics on October 9th and 10th.

Yes, this is a Quick Pic event, which entails discounted packages and viewing/ordering immediately after the session.  As always, we ask that you call or email for an appointment, and we ask for a $75 retainer to hold your session time [which actually prepays for portraits.  We don't charge a session fee.].

In the past, we’ve always shot a clearly “pumpkin” scene.  This year we’ll be stretching out a little–think old fashioned rope swing.  Naturally, we’ll still shoot with pumpkins, but we’ll also create some images without the great orange squash [I just learned by asking Jeeves that a pumpkin is not a gourd].  This will be a fantastic opportunity to create some portraits of your kids, but also of the entire family.

Keep watching the blog, and you’ll see some examples of pumpkin/fall portraits.  If you haven’t already, please subscribe to my blog.  It doesn’t cost anything, and you’ll be notified when a new blog is published.

Enjoy this great season!  I’ll look forward to goofing around with you and your kids soon.

Hey Bill! Are you only doing the 2 days of fall quick pics? Zach has a soccer game that morning. By the time we get back it should be about nap time for the others. If not do you have anything late on the 9th? The baby is growing up fast! We need some more wonderful Mr. Bill pictures!
